At the AI for Future Workforce Hackathon at 42 Wolfsburg on 20 and 21 August 2026, Emil and Felix took on the Akkodis challenge: Talent Opportunity Marketplace.

the problem.

A talent opportunity marketplace is an internal job board. It matches employees' skills to open projects and roles inside their own company, so people can move on without moving out. A complex challenge, and they had 24 hours for it. Team Segfault Squad built a solution in that time and took third place.

the bigger picture.

55 hackers in 11 teams took part. Two of the winning teams included 42 Berlin students. The other was Road One, which won the Volkswagen Group challenge.

42 Wolfsburg, Volkswagen Group, Wolfsburg AG and WolfsburgDigital hosted, Akkodis set the challenge and Databricks provided the technology. As for the team name: anyone who has spent a week on C at 42 knows exactly where it comes from.
